How to use the Safety first app?
In this article, you will learn the three ways you can browse the Safety first app and how to download content for offline reading.
Three Navigation methods
To orientate you with this version of the Safety first app, we would like to explain the 3 ways you can navigate using the app to quickly find the safety information that you want to read.
1. Navigation by article:
- The latest article can be accessed to read via its individual tile on the top section of the app’s home screen
- You can also choose from one of the 4 categories labelled “Flight Ops”, “Cabin Ops”, “Ground Ops” or “Maintenance” to quickly access a collection of articles related to your chosen area of interest. On smartphones, the categories can be accessed through the App menu
- Previous articles are listed below the latest article
- PDF Articles from Safety first editions #1 through to #16 can be viewed by pressing the "PREVIOUS ARTICLES" button at the bottom of the list of articles or via the “ARCHIVE" section, of the app menu (top-right).
2. Search for articles by keyword:
- The “Search” capability is accessed by using the search bar at the top of the app’s home screen or the “Search” bar in the app menu
- Search results will include relevant information from both the recently published articles, including from #17 up to latest edition, and the archive of articles previously published in editions #1 through to #16.
3. Navigation by magazine edition:
If you prefer to browse Safety first by its published editions, you can download a PDF version of any edition through the "Magazines" menu (including the latest edition PDF version and all the way back to Safety first #1). On smartphones, the magazines can be accessed through the App menu
How to download content for offline reading?
You can download:
- all the articles from a category (Flight OPS, Cabin Ops, Ground Ops or Maintenance), or
- all articles, whatever the category, or
- all the pdf magazines
Download all articles from a category (Flight OPS, Cabin Ops, Ground Ops or Maintenance)
Leave your finger for 2 seconds on a category in the top menu and select "Download"
Download all articles from all categories
- Click on the app menu icon
- Leave your finger for 2 seconds on "Show all articles" in the app menu, and
- Select "Download"
Download all pdf magazines
Leave your finger for 2 seconds on "Magazines" in the top menu and select "Download"
How to delete the downloaded content from my device?
Leave your finger for 2 seconds on the category that you have previously downloaded and select "Delete"
